UNIVERSITY OF DAYTON ATHLETICS MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Dayton reflects the mission of the University.
That mission is embodied in the following core purposes:
- To educate the total person by integrating the primary academic purposes with educational possibilities and opportunities for young people beyond the classroom
- To teach the value of community and family through collaboration and teamwork
- To instill the fundamentals of sportsmanship, adhering to the values of respect, fairness, civility, honesty, and responsibility
- To teach the tools of achievement, including self-discipline, personal responsibility and the setting of high standards
- To develop the individual talents of our student-athletes within the context of shared team goals
- To enhance diversity and minority opportunity at the University of Dayton
- To advance the University of Dayton locally, regionally and nationally through the more highly visible sports, particularly the men's basketball program (University of Dayton, 2016)
Conference Affiliations
All Flyers intercollegiate sports teams participate at the NCAA Division I level. The football team competes in the Division I FCS non-scholarship Pioneer Football League, and women's golf plays in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, while all other sports compete in the non-football Atlantic 10 Conference.
Organizational Overview and Work Plan
Working with the University of Dayton athletics communications department, the primary role will be the main contact for the Flyer softball team. The work plan is to obtain 40 hours of oversight working all home softball games. Oversight, operations and recaps are part of the day to day duties

Supervisor
Schedule & Compensation
Attending school events and frequent meetings when available. Fifty (40) hours will be completed as a volunteer basis. No compensation will be awarded.
Goals
Working with the athletic department, it will be very intriguing to see the day to day operations of a college organization. With my lack of knowledge of the business side of the college operations, it will be very interesting to see the different aspects and challenges that will arise.
